June 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I have to have breakfest at the flea market, so I didn’t have
much time to study the charts and I only have my “rushed” spot picks
for the first 6 races

1. Wannabe Silver, Lady Preacher,or Lightning Finish (will take 1)
2. Brave Irish, Mountain County, Last Maker (I’ll the the two
with the highest odds)
3. Short race, Maiden 2 year olds, going with a random longshot
4. Stylen Jane
5. Lion Bill, True Colour
6. Heart to Spare, Regal Roo

Hastings Park: June 28th recap

June 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Actually did pretty decent at Hastings for once. Here were the PPL
pre race picks
for June 28th. And below was my betting activity

1. Didn’t bet, my picks odds were too low and Zippy Zak lost anyway
2. Stuck with Cagey Fox over Irish Opinion. Cagey Fox won and paid
15.10, My $10 got me 75.50
3. Loss $8 as I bet Daily with my two picks here and my two picks in
the 4th race
4. Bet $5 on both my picks, Sunrise Serenade came in and paid 10.20,
my $5 bet returned 51.00

Decided to do a $1 pick 3 with the next races, even though I said to
avoid Race 6, I just took the two favorites. Here was my bet

Race 5: Sales Gal, Comet Seven
Race 6: Undersecretary, Irish Opinion
Race 7: Post Master General, Freequartersmine

Thats an $8 bet and Comet Seven, Undersecretary, and Freequartersmine
hit paying 42.15. Not a big Pick 3 payout as only $970 was bet on the
pick 3, but still returned a decent profit. Would’ve won half that had
I just made win bets

Race 8: Did a crazy bet and loss $18 going for gold. One of the
longshots I told my friend to bet on but he passed on actually hit and
paid 24.30. Looking back at the charts, That’s My Rival was a
decent closer moving down in class. Regret not betting on this one

Random Stats
Official
results

$54 bet on this card, went a bit over my $40 budget, the last $18 bet was dumb
$168.65 was paid back for a $114.65 profit

So I need to bet $446 more on Hastings Park for the BC Government to get
back their money from the $100 Climate Dividend Cheque they gave me
earlir this week. That’s 20 cents on every dollar bet that goes to the
Province. So with my profit I now have 214.65 to bet on the track.
Putting my budget on today’s bets at $60

PPL pre race picks: Hastings June 28

June 28, 2008 · 1 Comment

Only budgeting $40 for this card, as I have to spread out my $100 Climate Action Dividend over the next four days and I hate Hastings Park, its sketchy and tough. You can’t trust the stats there, much like you can’t trust the crackheads at Hastings and Main

Anyways here are my “contenders” (will make bets according to last minute info and board odds) for June 28th, they all suck, morning line favorites in bold

1. Zipity Zak 5/2; Lil Victor G 7/2
2. Cagey Fox 6-1; Irish Opinion 9/5
3. La Veloz 7/2; Date With Anna 3-1
4. Sideline 4-1; Sunrise Serenade 6-1
5. Sales Gal 7/2, Comet Seven 4-1
6. STAY AWAY FROM THIS RACE, sketchy
7. Post Master General 4-1; Freequartersmine 9/2
8. Rainbow Dash 5-1

no pre-race picks for Hollywood as I will have to print out Moss Pace Figures tomorow morning and I’m not confident in making selections without them

Hollywood June 27: Early Pick 3

June 28, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Here were Pimlico Parking Lot’s Pre Race Picks for Hollywood on June 27th and it led to a big score
Hit the pick 3 in my 1st three races (actual winner in bold)

Race 1: E Bee Girl,
Race 2: Party Punch, Warren’s Cookie
Race 3: Gone Californian, Early Ana

4 bets at $4 each = $16 investment

The pick 3 paid 148.9 for a 595.60 return on my ticket

Not Bad eh!. I was pretty much set for the night. And just spent the rest of the night not following my picks and just going for reasonable longshots. Booyaka Booyaka

If you had just played straight win bets on the first three races the return was decent as well paying 4.40, 17.20, 6.60 on $2 bets. Remember these picks were all top 3 favorites, nothing too hard here. Oh ya and Moss Pace Figures that I bought off the internet for $3 that are not included in the Daily Race Form at the track played a big part too, as late speed seems to be the new bias on Synthetic surfaces during night races, that helped out too to help me spot out clutch Closers. See easy stuff.

Oh and I also hit a 64.60 Triactor on a $1 bet in the 5th race with my pre-race picks. But my pick of the day didn’t hit (got the inside scoop that Joshua’s Dream wasn’t ready) and my longshot of the day scratched

Anyways enjoy this song, as this was what I was listening to last night when I was studying the race charts

climate action dividend

June 27, 2008 · 2 Comments

been away for a bit but now I will be attacking the track with full force. a lot has happened in the horse racing world since: Big Brown sucked, Curlin lived up to the hype, and Not Bourbon won the Queens Plate.

But none of these motivated me as much to take Pony Betting seriously than the gift I got from the BC Government

climateactiondividend

Earlier this week each resident of British Columbia received one hundred dollars in free monies from Premier Gordan Campbell.

Basically our government is leaving it up to us on how we want to spend these free monies but is encouraging that we spend it to help the environment or something

from smartchoicesbc.ca

We all benefit from climate smart choices.

Whether you purchase energy-efficient light bulbs, shop locally for produce, or use your dividend to help purchase eco-friendly upgrades in your home, your decisions can make a big difference.

Using your $100 Climate Action Dividend to reduce your carbon footprint can lower your energy, water and fuel consumption – not to mention save you money in the long run.

Me, I have decided to give back this monies to the province by betting on horses at Hastings Park.

20% of all money wagered at the track goes to the government. This means that I will have to wager $500 at Hastings Park in order for the BC government to make the world a better place. So I will have to turn a $400 profit from the $100.

All money wagered at Hastings will only come from government money. Its a tough track to bet on, but I am willing to sacrifice and do my part to make the world a better place

Wish me luck

Ask and Old Trinidadian Guy

June 9, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Your pick was wrong for Belmont, what will you be gambling on for the rest of the summer?
Tim D, Houston, TX
So my pick was wrong, you think that was my real pick? I gave a fake one so that the odds wouldn’t get all messed up. They need to rename the Belmont Stakes the disappointment Stakes or the Chicago Cubs Stake. Always with the let downs, like Roti’s outside of Trinidad. Yeah, they are there but they are a LET down. I am currently going to be betting in a celebrity death pool and youth league soccer games.

Who is your pick for Euro 2008?
Paul, Toronto, ON
I cannot pick a winner. I can, however, pick a loser: EVERYONE. No Trinidad, no interest. Now please stop honking your horns like Trinidad won a cricket match. Save it for special occasions.

losing money on belmont: exactor betting on big brown

June 5, 2008 · 1 Comment

Come post time on Saturday Big Brown’s odds for the Belmont Stakes will most likely be 1 to 9. Meaning a 1 dollar profit for every 9 bet. Up until then we here at pimlico parking lot will be advising loved ones on how to lose all your money on that race, enjoy

Exactor Betting on the Key Horse

This is a brown Zune, you can win a lot of these by Exactor Betting on Big Brown. They are both brown just like Los Angeles. In the meantime take this survey because its so cool.

Using last Sunday’s Queen’s Plate Trial Stakes as an example:

Harlem Rocker was the clear cut favorite however he was only going to pay about 30 cents on every dollar bet. One way to maximize your profit in this situation would be to Exactor bet him on every horse.

With about 10 minutes to post these were the exactor odds

East End Tap 32 to 1
Not Bourbon 6 to 1
Chasin the Tornado 47 to 1
Solitare 15 to 1
Sebastian’s Song 34 to 1
Pewter 14 to 1

To ensure a profit this is the amount you would have to bet on each horse (approx. money back in brackets)

East End Tap $2 (64.00)
Not Bourbon $20 (120.00)
Chasin the Tornado $2 (94.00)
Solitare $5 (75.00)
Sebastian’s Song 34 to 1 $2 (68.00)
Pewter $5 (70.00)

Why this works: This strategy is a $36 investment, with the lowest payout returning a 28.00 profit and the most likely scenario generating a 100.00 profit. Much better than just betting 36 bucks straight up on Harlem Rocker to win. Apply the same strategy to Big Brown on Saturday, but multiply 36 by 10,000 to pay for your child’s tuition.

Why this doesn’t work:

- This requires the ability to do some basic math, so this excludes 87% of the people who bet on horses

- You will have to read the exactor bet board and distribute your bet money accordingly, by the time you figure out the math, the lineup to bet on the big race will be very very long, but hey you might get to meet some cool people while in line.

- The Key Horse has to win. Not Bourbon won the above race while Harlem Rocker choked and finished in 4th. Big Brown might do the same or someone who bet the house on Casino Drive might throw a rock at Big Brown down the stretch. Or worse some feminist might stand in front of him.

losing money on belmont: betting the house on big brown

June 4, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Come post time on Saturday Big Brown’s odds for the Belmont Stakes will most likely be 1 to 9. Meaning a 1 dollar profit for every 9 bet. Up until then we here at pimlico parking lot will be advising loved ones on how to lose all your money on that race, enjoy

Putting Everything you own on Big Brown.

Its just a house

Sure betting 90,000 will only get you 10,000, but its a sure thing why not?

90,000 + 10,000 = 100,000

Why this works: 2008 Florida Derby, 2008 Kentucky Derby from the 20 post, 2008 Preakness

Why this doesn’t work: Smarty Jones, Giacomo, Real Quiet, Casino Drive, Pearl Harbour (the movie), Ichiro, California Roll, Denis of Cork, subprime mortgages, the grassy knoll, the internets, sustainable development, the inside post, and your wife and kids,

belmont hype: casino drive, thank a you very much

June 4, 2008 · 1 Comment

below are Japan’s Casino Drive’s only two races. He’s seen as the biggest threat to Big Brown’s triple crown bid. Although I think Denis of Cork, who came from last place to finish 3rd in the Kentucky Derby has a better chance for the upset.

The Tokyo trained horse not only enjoys Karaoke, Imperialism, and Sushi, but he also has history on his side; he shares the same mother as the last two Belmont Winners, Jazil and fillly Rags to Riches.

She’s gets around

Casino Drive looks good but the only thing that upsets me is his name. Its not Japanese enough. Here are some name suggestions

Sashimi Sam
Crazy Hair
Tempura Tim

anyways watch these two vids carefully before betting your house on him. He’s the 8 horse in the first vid (listen to the commentary, he makes several jokes about American Idol and the Lakers and the tune at the end of the race is a jam) and he tears up the Peter Pan Stakes at Belmont Park in the other one. Oh ya his grand dad A.P. Indy (also the father of his half sis Rags to Riches; scandalous!) won the Peter Pan in 1992 and went on to take the Belmont after that
