3 Days pony betting on Del Mar and I ain’t doing so bad. Although all my bets were on selected favorites so I’m not a pro yet. Brad Free actually had the same pre picks as me in Race 7 and Race 9 so I went with my second choices.

Total Del Mar Profit July 25-26: 39.50
Total Wagered on Del Mar: 123.00
Total Returned: 186.00
ROI: 0.51 (gross)
R1: Passed, got to a computer too late
R3: $10 win on 5 Bad bet odds were too low and buddy came in 3rd
R4: $10 win on 7 RETURNED 42.00 3-1 for a favorite was good for me, #7 World War closed in for the win paying 8.40
R6: $10 win on 9 I actually went against my pre pick #7 Guns on the Table and went with my second pick #9 Concerto’s Thunder who came in second. Should’ve backed up the 7-1 with a place as that paid 7.00
R8: $10 win on 1 (G1 Sprint Bing Crosby Handicap) RETURNED 32.00 Okay I never saw #2 Barbeque Eddie run before, but I remembered #1 Street Boss’s last two races at Hollywood. Anyways this was perhaps one of the best races I’ve seen as Street Boss comes out of nowhere on a horrible wide turn to win. He’s sick!!!!
While watching this video I recommend listening to this in the background
wasn’t feeling too many of the races on this card, and also the workers were having a huge labor vote on this day. Was off site, so all of these bets were made online
R3: $4 on 1 to win 22-1 shot, finished in 4th
R4: $6 1,6,3 Tri Box result 7-6-2
R7: $10 3,5 EX Box result 3-4-5, Win odds were too low so I took my two prepicks, but Daymaker squeaked in for 2nd place
Okay I have done terrible the last couple of Sundays, but this time I’m not hungover so there is no execuse. I did however just randomly flipped over my bookshelf last night
Anyways how I do today will determine what I eat for the week. Enjoy
or
Del Mar
Budget for card: $50
R1: #1 Delta Storm min 8/5
R3: #5 Forest Melody min 2-1, if not use in EX
R4; #7 World War min 3-1
R6: #7 Guns on the Table min 3-1 (going with the pros on this one
R8: G1 Sprint going with #1 Street Boss or #2 Barbecue Eddie. Will
take lowest odds. Seeing how food is on the line, maybe I should go with Barbecue Eddie, he did run well in Dubai earlier this year
Hastings Park
Budget: $50
R3: Taking a chance on #1 Market Bell or #6 Fisherman’s Friend min 4-1
R4: EX and TRI Bets on #6 Puerto Montt #1 Legally Mine & #3 Fire Boss
R6: Betting against the heavy favorite #4 When in Rome
R7: Feature race, there are two horses from the same stable here that
earned me some loot (#4 Damaker & 2 Mozambique) but I’ll put emotion
on the side and take a chance on#5 Juvee Hall or #3 Irish Delta
Bankroll: 636.90

Bets Hit 2-4
Very weak profit considering I hit half of my bets, proving that I should go for value.
Bets
R2: $3 EX 1,4 $2 Ex 4,1 RETURNED 19.65
Result 1-4-5 with an exacta payout of 13.10
R3: $5 WIN 3
Had to bet on #3 Foxy Like A Cat for losing his jockey twice in previous races. He didn’t do bad coming in 2nd. Should’ve backed this up wiht a place bet which would’ve paid 7.60
R5: Ex Box 6,4,5, 10 $12 total
Result 6-3-9
R7: $20 WP on 3 RETURNED 31.00
Man the odds were at 2-1 when I made this bet, but at the last minute someone made a huge bet making my Win payout 3.50 and the place 2.70.
Will stick to probably 4 $10 Win bets tomorrow, until I’m out of my slump
crazy day at Del Mar, with all of the Wins paying over 10.00. And man I got a lot of regrets
Wagered:55.00

Total Del Mar Profit July 25-26: 5.50
R1-R3 $12 Pick 3
R1: 3,4,5 R2: 6,5 R3: 4,5
Only one I hit here was the 5 in R2
R2-R3 $8 Daily Double
R2: 6,5 R3:4,5
See above. This was a forced bet that I shouldn’t have made. Until i’m out of my slump I’ll stick with Win bets
R5: $5 Win on 4 Return 31.50 #4 Dr J.J. hit paying 12.60.
R7: $20 Exactor Box 6, 2
Result was 9-2-1. WTF? #6 Speight the Halo started off well then got scarred down the stretch.
R9: $10 Win on 10
My other pick to win #2 Sky Mesa won paying out 17.60. In my pre-picks I even said she was the best horse, but was afraid of her 1st start on turf. Next Time I’ll avoid races with top notch surface flip floppers.
Biggest regret is not even putting $2 on #3 Weekend Escape in R8. Had this horse as a RLS in my pre race picks and he paid 49.20. Next time if one of my RLS over 10-1, I’ll at least put $2.
Back tomorrow, I’ll probably stick to 5 $10 win bets and bet $2 on any of my RLS’s that are over 10-1
Here are the PPL picks for today. Yes I know its chaotic, but I adjust
my bets based on horse behaviour and odds at about 2 minutes to post
(MTP). Still haven’t decided which are Prime and which are my Action
Bets (where i put small cash on a Reasonable Longshot). Will decide in
the next hour or so, but I’ll budget $40 on Prime and $20 on Action
Bets.
R1: 3, 4, 5 (take two lowest)
R2: 5, 6, RLS 2, 8
R3: Key 4 or 5 Basic pony betting says don’t bet on race with only 6 horses but hey
money is money. I’ll either go with #3 Vixana or #4 Be Glorious (min
8/5). Maybe a simple box on these two is good enough
R4: 2, 4, 6 RLS 3
R5: 4 or 6
R6: 6 or 3 RLS 7, 9
R7: 2, 6 RLS 5, 8, 11 I saw #6 Speight the Halo and #2 Street Boss in their debuts and they
were pretty sweet finishing 2 & 3. I hit the winner S.S.
Stone that day. Both are pricey horses and Street Boss has a
Korean Trainer. “You get out my store” Hahahaha, sorry that was really racist
R8: 5, 6, 8 RLS 3
R9: (G2 San Clemente) 2 or 10 Stakes race where I’ll take #10 Misty Ocean at a min of 8/5, but #2
Storm Mesa looks like the best horse. Only problem? This is his first
race on Turf
R10: 9, 8, 2
Hastings Park
Only got half an hour to go so here are my Hastings Quick Picks. I’m in a
slump so I may just make 9 $5 win bets to get out of it. Or maybe
slump bust tonight, like Mark Grace. Will only budget $50 total on
this card
R1: 3,5
R2: 4,1 RLS 2
R3: 4 or 6 RLS 1,2
R4: 7 or 3 Hahahah I think I’ll stick with #3 Foxy Like Cat, simply based on the
fact that this Cali shipper lost his jockey twice in his only two
races in Vancouver. Same jockey Fuentes is up again, Must have
problems with BC Bud.
R5: 4, 6 RLs5, 10
R6: 2, 5 RLS 4 (maybe avoid this race)
R7: 3 RLS 7
R8: 1 or 5 Decent 50 K race with a lot of shippers. Very rare at Hastings Park.
Will probably take #1 Forest Prince, but man #5 Panamanian Playboy was
bred in Florida and had one race in Cali. Romantic Style all the way
R9: Will Gamble on this one based on budget.
Made only two bets, but all I had to do was hit one
Wagered: 28.00
Returned: 57.00
Bets Hit: 1-2
Total Del Mar Profit: 29.00
R6 & R7: Daily Double $18
R6: 4,5,7
R7: 6,8,10
The favorite that I said to bet against ended up winning race 6, but the result was 8-7-4, so I wasn’t too far off in my picks. Race 7 ended being a 5 horse photo finish, only the 10 was in the money, 6 & 8 sucked
R8: $10 on #9 Jaime to Win Return 57.00
The 7YO Argentinian named Jaime closed in for the win in this low level claimer, paying 11.40. This was also one of Brad Free’s prime picks. Wish I bet $25 like he did.
because of drunk fridays at my place of daytime employment I’ll only be able to catch races 6-8. But anyways here are some ppl prerace picks
Race 1- The 1 or the 6 horse
Race 2 – #7 Carrie With a C (min 8/5) and use as Key in exotics
Race 5 – #1 Chilliwack . Only put $2 to show on this one, selection is just based on the name
Race 6 & Race 7 – All the experts have #8 Little Boss Chick in the 6 as the heavy favorite, but I’ll bet against this. First taking the a longshot, probably the 3 horse at 20-1 and with a daily double using the 1,5,7 in the 1st leg and 2,6,8,10 in the 2nd leg (I’ll narrow the 2nd leg to 2 or 3 horses)
Race 8: Win bets on #4 Celtic Sword and #9 Jaime. Hahahaha Jaime, what a funny name for an Argentinian Horse
for the last week, I’ve been observing Del Mar and now I feel confident to take on the track with legit money.
Last Friday though, I actually put real cash on two longshots and they hit. “Lauren C” paid 9.20 in the 4th, while “Killmartin Hall” paid 34.20. Both $5 bets for a total return of 108.50.
But after observing the charts, I realized that these picks were made more out of luck rather than skilled pony betting. I think I made one bet based on the name and the other based on a subliminal message.
I will start off my Del Mar bankroll with my winnings from the two fluke bets. So I have 98.50. We’ll just round that to 100.

Weekend was filled with mistakes. On the Saturday my mind was on Anderson Silva and the UFC party I was throwing. Basically I was on the phone all afternoon trying to organize shite. As for the Sunday it started bad when I accidentally enter in the 3 horse instead of the 2 in race 2 for the 2nd leg of my daily double. It would’ve paid 106.40. Doesn’t help that the name of the winning stable brings awful thoughts.
