While I still try and figure out Hastings and Northlands, Hollywood
Park pays the bills. Kinda sad that the last day is July 13th because
even with three losing days (two of those I hit no bets at all), I’ve
still made close to 2,000 in profit since this site started. All of
this with no bets over $10.
Anyways here were my stats from this past weekend
June 27
Total Wagered $46
Total Returned 680.70
My first bet was a Pick three that paid over $500. I wasn’t confident
in my pre race selections (I couldn’t narrow one winner) so I did a 2
x 2 x 2 bet and it hit. None of these were big longshots, all top 3
contenders and the payout was sweet.
June 28
Total Wagered $61
Total Returned 184.25
Made one dumb $20 on Tiago in the Hollywood Gold Cup. Also I was
drinking a lot as I had company with me.
June 29
Total Wagered $48
Total Returned 129.40
Big bet hit in the last race with a reasonable two year old longshot.
I bet a daily double in Race 8 (a stakes race) on the Heavy favorite
Black Mamba with two RLS in the 9th. My two picks were expensive
horses that hadn’t raced.
S.S. Stone $10,000 to breed; $135,000 at auction (father beat Smarty
Jones in the Belmont)
Speight the Halo $40,000 to breed; $400,000 at auction
Now its not wise to just bet the most expensive horse
Case in point
a Horse that cost 16 million but only raced 4 times and
returned 10 K
and

But the top three morning line favorites all had one race under their
belts but no beyers over 70. This race was basically equivalent to
the Mcdonalds H.S. All Star game and I just saw no college potential
in the favorites. So i took a chance figuring I’d get good odds Also
with all the Basketball references and losing on a horse named Ginobli
on Friday, how could i not pair this bet up with Black Mamba
S.S. Stone came
in 1st Speight the Halo finished in 2nd
The Daily Double paid 68.80. Not bad on a $2 investment
