ppl pre picks: del mar / hastings july 26

Del Mar

Here are the PPL picks for today. Yes I know its chaotic, but I adjust
my bets based on horse behaviour and odds at about 2 minutes to post
(MTP). Still haven’t decided which are Prime and which are my Action
Bets (where i put small cash on a Reasonable Longshot). Will decide in
the next hour or so, but I’ll budget $40 on Prime and $20 on Action
Bets.

R1: 3, 4, 5 (take two lowest)
R2: 5, 6, RLS 2, 8
R3: Key 4 or 5
Basic pony betting says don’t bet on race with only 6 horses but hey
money is money. I’ll either go with #3 Vixana or #4 Be Glorious (min
8/5). Maybe a simple box on these two is good enough
R4: 2, 4, 6 RLS 3
R5: 4 or 6
R6: 6 or 3 RLS 7, 9
R7: 2, 6 RLS 5, 8, 11
I saw #6 Speight the Halo and #2 Street Boss in their debuts and they
were pretty sweet finishing 2 & 3. I hit the winner S.S.
Stone that day. Both are pricey horses and Street Boss has a
Korean Trainer. “You get out my store” Hahahaha, sorry that was really racist

R8: 5, 6, 8 RLS 3
R9: (G2 San Clemente) 2 or 10
Stakes race where I’ll take #10 Misty Ocean at a min of 8/5, but #2
Storm Mesa looks like the best horse. Only problem? This is his first
race on Turf
R10: 9, 8, 2

Hastings Park

Only got half an hour to go so here are my Hastings Quick Picks. I’m in a
slump so I may just make 9 $5 win bets to get out of it. Or maybe
slump bust tonight, like Mark Grace. Will only budget $50 total on
this card

R1: 3,5
R2: 4,1 RLS 2
R3: 4 or 6 RLS 1,2
R4: 7 or 3
Hahahah I think I’ll stick with #3 Foxy Like Cat, simply based on the
fact that this Cali shipper lost his jockey twice in his only two
races in Vancouver. Same jockey Fuentes is up again, Must have
problems with BC Bud.
R5: 4, 6 RLs5, 10
R6: 2, 5 RLS 4 (maybe avoid this race)
R7: 3 RLS 7
R8: 1 or 5
Decent 50 K race with a lot of shippers. Very rare at Hastings Park.
Will probably take #1 Forest Prince, but man #5 Panamanian Playboy was
bred in Florida and had one race in Cali. Romantic Style all the way
R9: Will Gamble on this one based on budget.
